My experience …

My experience spans across marine research, policy, conservation and leadership in the UK and internationally. Building on a foundation of scientific rigor, I have spent decades navigating the complexities of the blue economy. From my early visual and acoustic research on cetaceans aboard the SRV ‘Forever Changes’ to my Ph.D. specialising in Harbour Porpoise ecology, I ground every strategy in robust evidence.

I spent 15 years at The Wildlife Trusts, eventually working as Head of Marine Conservation. In this role, I managed diverse portfolios covering Marine Protected Areas (MPAs), sustainable fisheries, marine spatial planning and offshore renewable developments. Later I worked in a senior consultancy role delivering projects in Europe. Today, through LB Ocean Consulting Ltd, I provide senior-level strategic advice to both local and global partners, including both the Devon and the Antigua & Barbuda Environment Foundations. My goal remains constant: fostering collaborative leadership to ensure nature’s recovery and sustainable outcomes for vital marine ecosystems worldwide.

When not at work I can be found in, on or close by the ocean – my favourite place to be!

“I founded LB Ocean Consulting on a simple belief that strong science, collaboration and practical solutions can deliver real change for our oceans. I feel incredibly privileged to do this work.”
